    "Artist, cubist, modernist, muralist-at the age of 5 his family moved to the San Fernando Valley. Channing graduated from San Fernando HS where he was awarded a scholarship to CCAC. He painted a mural at El Paseo Restaurant in Santa Barbara in 1928. For 2 years he studied at the Santa Barbara School of Art followed by study in NYC at the Art Students League. For 4 years he lived and worked with Diego Rivera and traveled widely in Mexico. His works hang at MIT, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, and the LA County Museum of Art. His murals are in the Santa Barbara Library and the Santa Barbara Biltmore Hotel. He lived in the Santa Inez Valley where he raised quarter horses."
