  	NEW 1/27/13 from The Clyde Herald, Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1920 Rev. Charles H. Moscrip The Rev. Charles Henry Moscrip, D. D., died at his home in this village, Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1920, aged 72 years. He was born in Fort Miller, N. Y., June 20, 1848, the son of Robert S. and Mary A. Moscrip. He was a graduate of the University of Rochester, class of 1874, and the Rochester Theological Seminary, class of 1877. He held also the degree of Master of Arts from the former institution and received this honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity from LaGrange College, Missouri, in 1888. For many years, Dr. Moscrip served the Baptist Church as a faithful minister to many of its societies. His first pastorate was in this village, where he was ordained in October 1877, by the Baptist Church of Clyde. The following year he became pastor of the Baptist Church in Keokuk, Iowa. The best years of his life were spent in the Middle West serving churches in St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri, and in Jerseyville, Rockford, and upper Alton, Illinois. Later he returned to New York and held various posts of value. In 1908, his health failed and since that time he has been able to hold no settled position. His death comes as the culmination of many years off gradually wasting faculties. Dr. Moscrip was married to Miss Belle DeLany, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. N. DeLany, formerly of this village, who survives him. Seven children were born to them, of whom only two survive, Amos D. Moscrip of Albany, and Miss Virginia Moscrip of this village. Dr. Moscrip leaves also a sister, Mrs. J. F. Conkey, now living in California. The funeral will be held from the residence Friday, November 5, at 3 o'clock.
