He served in the company of Captain Kingsley from 1689 to 1696; and was of Capt. Nicholas Oilman's scouts in 1712. He was a farmer and selectman in Exeter. Children, born in Exeter: 1. Jeremiah, born April 18, 1697; died April — , 1722. 2. Jonathan born Dec. 5, 1699; lived in Exeter in 1746. 3. Philip, born March 3, 1701-2; lived in Exeter, yeoman, in 1746. 4. Samuel, born May 3, 1704; lived in Exeter, yeoman, in 1746. 5. Hannah, born Sept. 20, 1706; married Jonathan Rawlings of Stratham, N. H. 6. Ann, born March 30, 1709; married Thomas Lyford of Exeter. 7. Benjamin, born Sept. 7, 1711; lived in Exeter, yeoman; married, first, Abigail Bartlett June 25, 1734; and, second, Mary Leavitt; died at Exeter Oct. 18, 1811, aged one hundred. He had ten children.
