  Notes	[dunbar_tree.FTW] W.H.Turton gives a speculative ancestry from Leofric I, Earl of Leicester, presumed g3grandfather of Leofwine - "The Plantagenet Ancestry" (Balt.:Gen.Pub.Co.,1968), p. 130. Leofwine was known as earldorman of the Hwiccas and in 1017 was Earl of Mercia. Another proposed ancestry shows Leofwine as son of Elfwina of Mercia (daughter of Edward I the Elder [ID1631] and Edgiva) and Edolf or Edulph (of Saxony?). Leofwine acceeded in 1017.
